Numbers On the Stones

Tuesday 03/15/2005 11:51 AM

One teenaged day, on my way back from a Jomo's house, I hopped the fence and decided to take a closer look at these stone markers.

Wandering amongst them, I discovered some were sunk, others tilted, but they all had numbers etched in them. So much time had passed since they were planted that some had become weather-worn illegible.

"Et tu, Brute?"

— Julias Caesar, as he lay dying, after being stabbed by his closest friend

File Under: Cemeteries; Holiday, Of Sorts; Potter's Field; Quote of the Day
