Valiantly waiting for my muse to let loose with a rain of Cupid-like arrows that will get the juices flowing through my veins and move my fingers to write something of substance here.

Nine Inch Nails "With Teeth"

Live drumming adds a gritty subtext to Trent's vitriolic lieder. For my generation, when Trent is at his best, he is giving voice to a part of our psyche most of us didn't even know existed. In hearing the words chanted, murmured or screamed, self-awareness broadens and opportunities for change are created. No throw-away tracks here, but my favorite is easily "Getting Smaller": I think I'm losing my grip, but I can still make a fist. Beautiful.
