Today, I'd like to give a shout-out to one of the cornerstones of my research for the book. I can't remember how I disocovered this awesome tome, but The Lost History of the Canine Race: Our 15,000-Year Love Affair With Dogs is just a great historical text detailing the relationship between man and dog over the millenia.
Your Link of the Day is the Amazon link to the softcover version. Though the hardcover version is out-of-print, you can still get it used if you prefer.
Those of you that have read Unscattering, will recognize tidbits scattered here and there throughout The Lost History of the Canine Race: Our 15,000-Year Love Affair With Dogs. I've been re-reading it with a highliter and tabulating various fragments to reference in the other stories in the book.
There is another, shorter book that has also proved itself an invaluable resource in the course of writing the book. But we'll talk about that one some other time. I will tell you that it is translated from French.
