Two New Foods In 30 Days

In the last month or so, I've discovered two new foods that are each unlike anything I've eaten before while at the same time being just damn good:
- Atlantis Club & Grill
Mediterranean Lamb
I went with Candy to visit a friend whose husband was playing in a band there. With no real expectations of what kind of meal I might get at Tallahassee's Only Dining and Dancing Spot, I was intrigued by the Mediterranean Lamb. The menu described it as "Ground tender lamb meat mixed with our own Mediterranean spices skewered and grilled to perfection and served with hummus, parsley salad and pita bread," and, after the waiter said it was her favorite, I decided to give it a whirl. Let me tell you... this lamb is amazing. Mouth watering — to say the least. While I wasn't crazy about the tabouli, the smoothly blended hummus and pita bread were delicious.
As if the allure of a great new dish isn't appealing enough, you can't beat the way it's served either. The meal was served on colorful, heavy ceramic plates (each weighing at least a couple pounds before you put any food on them) with huge pineapple tops as decoration. Like I always used to remind Candy, it's all in the presentation. Highly recommended.
- The 4th Quarter
Parmesan Artichoke Hearts
My buddy, Richard, and I went to the 4th Quarter last nite for a quick bite during a poker break, and I discovered these delectable delights. Crunchy fried breading wrapped around artichoke hearts and parmesean and goat cheeses. Smooth and tasty in that bet-you-can't-eat-just-one way.
