The Traitor

Tuesday 01/03/2006 4:06 AM

I'm rooting for Penn State tonight.

I love FSU and all, but the win will mean so much more for JoePa and the Nittany Lions. I'd hate to see Bobby et al. spoil Penn State's fantastic season (especially when you consider the fact it's been spoiled once already by Michigan, but, no, we're not bitter).

With A.J. Nicholson gone, a hard game just got a lot harder. I'm reminded of a couple years ago when Anquan Boldin had to step in at quarterback against Georgia. Once they started blitzing, it was game over. Hopefully it won't be that dramatic on (FSU defensive coordinator) Mickey Andrew's side of the field for whoever has to step into Nicholson's shoes.

Now, just because I'll be hanging with the blue and white, that doesn't mean I don't want to see a great game. My dream outcome is triple overtime with Penn State making their forced two point conversion and FSU missing theirs.

Soon we shall see.

Did you watch the Sugar Bowl? Holy Smokes! Did West Virginia come to play or what? I thought it was game over by the end of the first quarter.

And can you believe that faked punt in the last minute of the game? What a gutsy call! I felt bad for Georgia and how their hope for a second chance was assassinated in front of the whole country and they just had to suck it up. Wow.

I still can't quite believe we are actually seeing this Orange bowl match-up between Bowden and Paterno. The saddest part is that come this time tomorrow, the event will be history and the afterglow will never compare to the expectation. Unless, of course, something truly spectacular happens.
