Candy Update

Wednesday 05/09/2007 12:41 AM

Candy went back to work full-time Tuesday. She was really tired when she came home.

Whoops! Let me back up a bit.

Candy's second MRI (your image of the day was one of the many reminders I left around the house for her) was clean, which meant no surgery for sure. So then she was off to the pain clinic. Long story short: She got an epidural Friday before last. Now this wasn't like the stuff that soon-to-be-mothers get — they get Novocaine straight into the spine. Candy got an anti-inflammatory cocktail (think super-Advil) and, even though she was freaked out worrying about getting a spinal injection, everything went great.

Before her epidural, Candy's pain index (1 to 10) was about an 8. A few days after the epi', she was at a 3. So it's still not gone, but it's a lot more manageable.

She had a follow-up with the pain doctor on Monday and now, as of Tuesday, she's back to work full-time.

They're gonna do another epi' on Friday, June 1st.

I'll keep you posted.
