Better With Oil?

Sunday 08/12/2007 8:01 PM

I never posted my Watercolor Abstract #2. It was a bit of a disaster. Was watching this documentary on Mark Rothko and there was an image in the show I wanted to re-create via watercolor. The whole thing, though, was dark with a bright light. Not really suitable for watercolor. I'll scan it soon and let you see.

Well today, I went at it again — making something dark and thick in a medium generally intended for light and airy and thin and minimalistic and (most importantly) RESTRAINED work. That said, I really like my latest piece. Let me know what you think.

I think I'm going to be a lot happier doing stuff like this with acrylics or maybe even oils.

And in other news... I finally got Alex to finish his last letter to friends and family. We're planning on sending out stuff tomorrow.

File Under: Artwork, Mine; Watercolor
