Shannon and Alex left today. The sweet silence of the moment will only last so long until it decays to ordinary and everyday. What is the half-life of the afterglow of that “glad to see them come, glad to see them leave” bit? It's both sad and peaceful... the way houses sound after a funeral, when everybody has left, only not so permanent.
