Jacksonville (Unmeaning Flattery)

I'm in Jacksonville for a couple of days. I saw Nine Inch Nails last night and I'm seeing Neil Diamond this evening (in the same venue no less!).

I got my NIN tickets through a pre-sale offering offered on the NIN web site. The seats were awesome. They even allowed cameras. So I had my taxi take me back to my hotel so I cold grab my camera. I have some great pictures to show you, but you'll have to wait a bit. It seems I forgot my memory card reader so I can't actually show you any of my pictures yet.

Gurdjieff & Vassilis Tsabropoulos "Chants, Hymns and Dances"

G. I. Gurdjieff was an early twentieth century mystic who came to Western Europe with secret knowledge he claimed to have acquired from an obscure group known as the Sarmoung Brotherhood. His philosophy might be best summed up with this quote: “Man lives his life in sleep, and in sleep he dies.” As part of his awakening process he instructed his students in a series of improvisatory movements or dances intended to “to alter or heighten consciousness.” This CD is music that he composed for his dances.
